*Tuyen's bullet makes contact, dealing 19 points of damage and killing the Dire Rat instantly*

Tuyen raised his rifle. Even though it had not originally belonged to him, he was no stranger to firing a gun. Steadying it and aiming for the Dire Rat's head, he pulled the trigger, watching as the rat fell into a mangled, bloodied heap, his ears ringing from the deafening explosion.

*Tuyen bulls back the bolt on his rifle and is able to keep the spent casing since he is not in danger. Tuyen has eliminated all enemies and traps and can now move throughout the dungoen without counting blocks or spaces or taking turns. Tuyen has earned 40 from killing enemies. Tuyen has 9 HP currently and will recover at a rate of 1 HP per 3hours of in game time unless healed. No items were dropped or found on the rats. Quest completed, return to barkeeper for reward.*

Tuyen emerged victorious from this simple task, killing his enemies with ease. However, why had the larger Alpha rat acted so strange towards the other rats? Looking closer at where the rat was staying, it seemed to be blocking the entrance of a small corner. Looking closer into the dark corner, Tuyen can see something very small glimmer and sparkle, what could it be?

That was probably the biggest rat I ever saw in my life. The comrades back home will never believe this. Why did that huge one attack it's minions? I don't think that's normal, not even in this world.

Suddenly, I see something flash in the darkness.

I walk towards the small glow in the dark.....

Tuyen walks towards the small glimmering light a bit cautiously until he is close enough to see it clearly... Looking down he can see that it is... a ring! A ring lays on the ground before you in what appears to be a bone pile of past rat meals. Picking it up, Tuyen doesn't seem to find anything special about it, but what in the world would that have to do with the large Rat attacking the smaller ones?

*Tuyen gained: ??????? Ring (Metal type and effects are hidden until appraised by any character). Tuyen is presented with a Concentration challenge to peice together why the large rat attacked the others*

What is this strange ring? It looks really nice, something I would see in Saigon. Maybe the barkeeper has an idea.

But.... Why did that big rat attack the others?

After looking at the ring and thinking, it was clear that the large rat had been protecting the ring. Being such a small animal, it's intelligence was not very high. When the other rats encroached on it's territory, it asserted it's dominance to protect it's treasure. If an animal like this was stupid enough to get distracted by such an object, whose to say that others could not be distraced by certain objects as well?

After looking around the cellar one more time, it was clear that there would be no more rat trouble, so Tuyen climbed the stairs to the Tavern.
